Know where you are. Know where to go next.
Straightforward brings streets, intersections, places, and transit into one iPhone app built for blind travelers. Get the details you need while you’re out walking, or pick a place across the country and explore from home.
Built for iPhone. Straightforward is in beta.
Hear the street around you
Check your street, address, travel direction, and the intersections ahead. Browse a road’s crossings in order, open crossing details, or look up nearby places. Choose which changes Straightforward speaks automatically and which you want to check yourself.
Find the right bus stop, not just the right corner
Two stops can have the same intersection name and put you on opposite sides of the street. Straightforward keeps those physical stops separate. Open one to hear its direction, routes, destinations, and upcoming departures, including realtime predictions when they’re available.
And here’s the detail that can settle the whole question at the corner: near side or far side of the cross street. Straightforward gives you that placement for stops where it can determine it, so you know which side of the intersection to head toward. You can also open the exact stop in maps, get walking directions, or watch it with Straightpoint.
Feel the direction with Straightpoint
Straightpoint is a way to keep your bearings toward one place. Choose a bus stop or another place to watch, turn Straightpoint on, and point your phone around you. When the phone faces your chosen place, it pulses in your hand; you can also hear the place’s direction and distance. Keep the place watched while you turn the guidance off, then turn it back on when you need it. It points toward the place in a straight line, while the street and transit details help you decide how to get there.
Go somewhere without going anywhere
Search for a place anywhere, then choose Explore virtually from here. Start at a business, a saved place, or even a transit stop in another city. Move along mapped streets in steps, jump to the next intersection, or switch to Auto mode and steer by turning your phone. Set your pace, pause, start over, and return to your real location whenever you’re ready.
Your pace, your voice
Straightforward lets you decide what gets announced as you move. Keep the street and intersection details at your fingertips with VoiceOver, or turn on spoken updates for the things you want to hear without looking for them.
